Eight Days A Week
A celebration of musical ignorance.
In 2016, I was introduced to The Beatles in the most reasonable way possible: one album at a time. For more than three months, I began each week with a new album and listened to nothing else for the entire week. That’s how I worked through their entire discography.
The silliness of the approach turned into a personally fascinating dive into their music, guided along by my co-host, Wes Lord who was regularly amazed at how little I knew about The Beatles — and music more generally. As I was once told, “You’re just not a fan of music, Steven.” And that may be true but I’m at least a fan of The Beatles at this point.
The podcast episodes themselves are lost to history. Well, technically they’re not lost. We know where they are: Prince’s Vault. However, his estate has made clear they have no intention on releasing them. Something about tainting his legacy. Which… fair enough. All these places had their moments and Eight Days A Week’s moment was lost to time, like tears in the rain.
